Boating and all of the many different ways that marine and fresh waterways can be used in recreation can be very satisfying and fun. But behind all the enjoyment, it is important to remember that boating has many of the dangers of driving. Operating a powerboat, speedboat, yacht, sailboat and/or personal watercraft can cause substantial injury to other persons. It can also result in heavy damage to others’ property. While many boats can be fairly inexpensive, the average costs of even modest boats can rival automobiles. Some boats are the expense equivalent of luxury autos or even medium-sized homes. It is important that you have the financial support to handle a serious loss to your property. It is even more important that you have assistance in taking care of large claims or lawsuits involving harm you may cause to others.
